There is one more reason to spend more time on LinkedIn Groups. It is the design makeover that the LinkedIn Group pages have undergone.
The redesign is simple and elegant. The LinkedIn Groups that you follow are displayed neatly on your Group page. In one look, you sense the energy on the page. The streamlined look helps you learn the number of discussions happening in your Group as well as the number of job postings made in the Group easily.
The comments display has been simplified, and the conversations are easier to follow. LinkedIn Group managers and Group members, according to LinkedIn, can now “customize and visually differentiate their conversation space.”
The LinkedIn mail announcing the changes lists three key differences that the redesign will deliver:
- Customizable hero image
- Streamlined design
- Simplified comment viewing
An infographic released just before the redesign lists some stunning facts about the LinkedIn Groups. These are:
- There are more than 2 million LinkedIn Groups. These are on “almost every topic imaginable — from entrepreneurship, philanthropy and careers to social and digital marketing.”
- More than 200 conversations happen each minute across LinkedIn Groups
- More than 8,000 Groups are created each week.
- Each LinkedIn member, on an average, joins seven groups
The new look has been rolled out for the English speaking members at present. It’s a change that should spur conversations and lead to increased engagement.
