How the newspapers headlined Nitish-Lalu victory

The results were stunning. They left a lot of egg on the faces of some of the best known TV anchors and political commentators. The results also trashed the pompous psephologists, and their exit polls.

The last word was spoken by the Bihar’s voters. They proved everyone wrong.

It must not have been easy for the headline writers to sum up their message. Here are some of the headlines that tried to capture the results:

The Times of India, as always, had a smart headline. It used Hinglish to pun on Bihar and Modi’s fortunes.

The Indian Express headline was equally powerful. It wanted New Delhi to notice the message that has been given by Bihar. The display made the headline more striking.
