The common notion is that the more you post the more traffic you will get. There is nothing wrong in this belief.
A visitor will come to your blog only when he is sure to find something fresh to read. The same is true of the search engine spider. The search engine spiders will stop visiting your blog if they do not find fresh content.
So, the first rule of blogging is to publish at least one post a day. This post need not be a killer post. It can be a routine post, but you must make the effort to write the post every day. If you can write more than one, then please do so. But one is essential.
The second rule of blogging is frequency. You must make sure that as far as possible you must put up fresh content at a specific time of the day. This can be in the morning, evening or even night. This can even be once in two days or once in three days. What is important is that the visitor should expect fresh content at that time.
You can even publish one killer post a week. But when you do so, you must make sure that the post goes up on your blog on the same time, and the same day week after week. You can even post the title of your weekly post and the time and date it will go up on your blog. This will keep the visitors interested and they will return to read what new you have to say.
The third rule of blogging is length. Write only that much which is relevant. Don’t stretch yourself. Keep your post short and to the point. Please remember that the best way to lose visitors is padding and aimless meandering.
