10 reasons why webinars still matter

Webinars must be part of every content marketing strategy.

Webinars need no explanation. They were the most overused and abused content marketing tool during the Covid years. Almost all organisations turned to webinars to conduct conferences and seminars.

In fact, their widespread use left audiences gasping with webinar fatigue.  Post-Covid there is a fresh interest in webinars, and content marketers are relooking at them as a valuable content marketing tool.

There are ten reasons why webinars are making a return:

# 1. Affordability: Webinars are by far the most cost-effective content marketing tool, and can be easily integrated in any marketing strategy.

# 2. Reach: Webinars do not suffer from physical limitations. Their reach is global, and anyone can register from any part of the world to participate in the webinar.

# 3. Interactivity: Webinars provide for customer participation and engagement. Participants can ask questions directly or enter them in the chat box for the speaker to respond.

# 4. Brand building: Companies get an opportunity to talk to customers directly. They can use webinars to share their expertise and promote their products or services.

# 5. Lead generation: The audience is required to provide their name and email address at the time of registration. Some companies go further. They ask participants to provide physical address, phone number, age, designation etc.  This is why webinars are considered a rich lead building tool. Companies can obtain detailed information about existing and potential customers.

# 6. Content delivery: Webinars allow speakers to use tools such as power point presentations, charts, videos etc to liven their talks. This can lead to highly interesting and engaging sessions.

# 7. Multi-purpose: Webinars need not be limited to company presentations. They can be used to expose customers to well-known experts. They can also be used to conduct training programs and panel discussions.

# 8. Revenue generation tool: Some companies even charge a fee for their customers to interact with high profile guests.

# 9. Build loyal customer base: The leads generated from a webinar gives companies an opportunity to reach out to the attendees and turn them into loyal followers. Companies can even communicate with non-attendees since they have their emails. Both attendees and non-attendees can be provided a free copy of the recording and invited to attend the next event.

# 10. Understand the target audience better: Companies can go through event analytics to find out which customers were most engaged or what was the general thrust of questions. This will help the companies prepare better for the next webinar.
