Indians have taken to Google+ in a big way. Between June 29, 2011 to July 19, 2011 – that is the first 21 days of the launch of Google+ — Google+ was adopted by 2.84 million Indians.

Only the Americans are ahead of Indians in adopting the latest social media offering from Google. According to comScore.com, 5.31 million Americans hit the Google+ button.

The UK (867,000 visitors), Canada (859,000 visitors) and Germany (706,000 visitors) were the other three nations in the list of top five adopters.

The worldwide number for the Google+ visitors stood at close to 20 million – which makes the social media innovation from Google one of the fastest growing application.

The three reasons that are being cited for the spectacular success of Google+ are design, usability and approach to group networking with Circles.

You should also remember that Google has a visitor base of more than 1 billion, and has been issuing invites to its subscribers.

However, early interest in Google+ will have to be sustained for Google+ to rival Facebook or create a profitable critical mass.
