Two out of every three web users in India have visited a social networking site, a study done by comScore.com in February 2010 reveals.

However, when compared to other Asia-Pacific nations (excluding China), India ranks ninth on the list with 68.7% of its web population visiting social networking sites.

The penetration of social networking sites is highest in Philippines (90.3%), followed by Australia (89.6%) and Indonesia (88.6%).

When it came to engagement, social networkers in India averaged two hours and ten minutes per user in February 2010. The number of visits per user during the same month stood at 13. This was also much lower to other Asia-pacific markets.

*Excludes visitation from public computers such as Internet cafes or access from mobile phones or PDAs.
