Online publishers are biggest web advertisers in India

Every fourth ad on Indian websites is placed by Online Publishers. They accounted for 26% of all online advertising in India in 2008-09, according to a study that was commissioned by Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI).

The next big sector is BFSI, that is banks and the financial sector. It accounted for 17% of Internet advertising. IT/Telecom was the third largest group and served 15% of the ads.
